### General Availability - Authentication methods migration wizard

**Type:** New feature
**Service category:** MFA
**Product capability:** User Authentication

The authentication methods migration guide in the Microsoft Entra Admin Center lets you automatically migrate method management from the [legacy MFA and SSPR policies](../identity/authentication/concept-authentication-methods-manage.md#legacy-mfa-and-sspr-policies) to the [converged authentication methods policy](../identity/authentication/concept-authentication-methods-manage.md). In 2023, it was announced that the ability to manage authentication methods in the legacy MFA and SSPR policies would be retired in September 2025. Until now, organizations had to manually migrate methods themselves by using [the migration toggle](../identity/authentication/how-to-authentication-methods-manage.md#start-the-migration) in the converged policy. Now, you can migrate in just a few selections by using the migration guide. The guide evaluates what your organization currently has enabled in both legacy policies, and generates a recommended converged policy configuration for you to review and edit as needed. From there, confirm the configuration, and we set it up for you and mark your migration as complete. For more information, see: [How to migrate MFA and SSPR policy settings to the Authentication methods policy for Microsoft Entra ID](../identity/authentication/how-to-authentication-methods-manage.md).

> [!WARNING]
> Policies in report-only mode that require a compliant device might prompt users on macOS, iOS, and Android devices to select a device certificate during policy evaluation, even though device compliance isn't enforced. These prompts might repeat until the device is compliant. To prevent end users from receiving prompts during sign-in, exclude device platforms Mac, iOS, and Android from report-only policies that perform device compliance checks.

## Review policy reports

The Conditional Access optimization agent also detects spikes and dips in activity related to existing policies. These anomalies often indicate a misconfiguration of a policy that needs to be investigated. If the agent identifies a significant change in activity, a report appears in the list of suggestions. In the **Actions taken by agent** column, you'll see **Suggested policy review** as the value.

To view a policy review report:

1. Select **Review suggestion** to view the details of the suggested policy review.

When the agent creates a new policy *in report-only mode* you can use the chat make adjustments to the policy and even turn on the policy. In the following example to create a new policy, the agent was asked to include a specific user. When you're using chat for new policies, the first **Confirm** button updates the policy in report-only mode.

You're prompted a second time to turn on the policy. If you select **Confirm** at this step, the policy is turned on. Select **Cancel** to save the report-only changes without turning on the policy.
